SouthCom Field Gallery
Today Rob and I decided to get up extra early on a non game game Saturday and pick up some of the old bunker materials from the old Southern command field. I wasn't sure if it would be possible to get my trailer down to where all the bunkers were so we just decided to wing it with only the truck. Well this is what we ended up with. Thank god for ratchet straps!!!
We also decided that since we had plenty of time we would build a new mega bunker on top of the hill to add to the already chaotic array of bunkers. We snagged the old camo netting off the old field and decided to try our hands at decorating. We think its awesome!!
We also laid out all the old black tube bunkers surrounding the hilltop to help out the attackers cause. If you look all around the hill you can see about 15 new places to get cover.
Here are just a couple more shots of the hill top. We still have a few more big bunkers to add to the top of the hill. We are hoping this will improve all the usual game variants we play and be an asset to future game modes.
In this shot you can see Rob and his lanky 6'4 frame next to some of the bunkers. It gives a nice size reference in the shot.

Re: SouthCom Field Gallery
Well I got a great deal on a huge mower from a friend so I figured it was time to give the field a cut. After getting the mower a belt and some gas she fired right up and I went to cutting. Here are some pics of Joe from next door wanting to try his hand at operating the machine. It was nice to get off the mower for a bit and let my hands and arms have a rest.
I got my weed eater out and got inside some of the worst bunkers like the tip bunker which was almost impossible to get into due to the weeds being so tall. Heres a pic of the finished project after 4 straight hours of cutting with no breaks.
The really tall weeds along the edge of the hill proved to be too much for the mower to get through without tearing up the machine. I went through two belts, 3 gallons of gas, and 3 liters of water to get the job done. I was able to get a few paths cut on the charlie side of the hill side both up the hill and across the hill side. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.
Thanks again Joe.

I had fun, to bad it was hot out. Went up to 102 that day, good thing we were done around 11:00 before it got that bad. Good job disco, you did like 3/4 of the work, sorry I did not come over till around ten. Would have like to see you going up and down the side of the hill , and thanks for letting me use that crazy lawn mower.
