Re: Overnight Operation
I think this will ensure people start remember their squad. They'll make sure they know where their guys are and what they are doing more often and they will definately pick their shots! A lot of times, we'd use "THUNDER, FLASH" from WWII.
Re: Overnight Operation
I love the idea of taking this down to sim. Example.. night time without NV of some sort you are S. O . L. (( )) when it comes to seeing who your enemy. So you will have to pic your shots.
I see alot of squad based games in this over night so it will make it easier for people to know who is on who's team.
give all of you guys a tip on how to know who is who.. Radios

Re: Overnight Operation
Radios are a must , even during the day light, The scenerio we ran this last weekend prove radios were need as Op Force Had no comm's during the game, and they let the spec Op team complete their objectives , A course I was safety marshall and was able to watch everything but forgot the camera

Re: Overnight Operation
I like the whole night time idea it sounds great. But people like realism so i say dont use glow sticks. I mean if we want to light up some areas cool. But keep others dark. Make people use flashlights and wut not. In my personal opinion it would be so much cooler with out aiding in light. Just because the dark plays tricks on you as it is. What you think maybe a person may not be so not like people are going to sit still. But at the same time i would see only using the top for safety reasons. Mainly because their are a lot of areas for u to trip an bust ur butt lol.

Re: Overnight Operation
an easy way to eliminate friendy fire would be to split them up into sniper/spotter teams or 4-5man squads and have a time limit to eliminate camping. im not saying its gonna work, but when that day, i mean night comes lets give it a try

Re: Overnight Operation
Most all the games will be squad / objective based. If you notice our field doesn't promote " Camping " We like to keep an higher pace of games to keep interest.

Re: Overnight Operation

Night game still a possiblity??
I know it's been awhile since anybody has brought up the subject, but is there any chance we could have our own overnight operation on the field in Crestview?
The weather is getting really nice out, and it would be really cool to conduct some night ops. We could use Alpha (or another base) as a campsite, and play on Bravo, Charlie, and Delta. We can pull resources, and borrow some flood lights to light up some of the trails, and get power to the base camp. I would be happy to help coordinate this event, and chip in any way I can.

Also Know as Fire Teams...
- point man
Grenadier
Gunner
Assistant Gunner
and for a 5th person could be the Squad leader. Generally a squad consist of 12-14 members which breaks up into 3 fire teams. 4 members per fire team. The point man is the fire team leader. and the Squad leader is obviously the Leader of the whole squad.
This would be more realistic if we were to do this. I have been trained in these tactics thanks to the USAF. If we decide to do this i know a lot of stuff to help people perform better at playing and have better communication when either the atmosphere is too loud or you are trying to be tactical. i.e hand and arm signals.

That's cool. I have access to 2 generators, maybe a 3rd. I can also acquire some flood lights as well. I was also thinking about setting up a TOC (Tactical Operations Center) as our main center of operation. From there, we can coordinate combat missions and run some mil-sim syle ops where we can even provide live intel and support. I've got a few computers we could use and I can borrow a video projector as well.
My idea was, we can mount some cheap wireless IR cams at stategic points around the field, and maybe even equip each squad leader with it on their helmets as a kill cam. The video would then be fed back to the TOC, and real time analysis can be performed. Also with a little imagination, we can create a good storyline to where the operators can feel as though they are in a real fire mission.
Both teams would have equal support, so it wouldn't be something where one team would benefit more than the other.
If you want to find out what a TOC is, watch the video below:
Let me know what you all think.

Yeah, it would be pretty cool. I love the idea of pitching some tents and camping out there too. It would be a fun night, all around.

Re: Overnight Operation
We will do an overnight op some day at our field. Itll be more like a skirmish day just n the dark though. Our field is too small to facilitate a real op.
Re: Overnight Operation
agreed. I was assuming that is what we are going to organize. Not an actual huge ass event.
Looking forward to this very much so.

Re: Overnight Operation
I see this " op " as more of a night time game day like Disco said but with like a camp fire and just hanging out having a good time. Would be cool to see ... well not see our field lol at night . Give it a new element and would change up tactics a lot.
