Skirmish DEC 5
Alright Folks were back on our regular schedule of every other Saturday. Were playing at the field on the north end of Crestview just off of 85 next to the boiled peanuts stand/store. This new field is where we will be playing until late February or until further notice. If you have a tent or canopy of some kind please bring it out. There are no umbrellas or permanent structure to seek shelter under if it rains on us or is super sunny. Also bring your own drinks and whatever food you may want during the day.
We are working on getting new structure on the field every week so if you have any old building materials laying around like old tin, plywood, posts, or pallets please bring em. We will be setting up everything we get to build with every game day with the help of the other players.
Thank you very much and hope to see yall soon.

Our first official game day at the new field
Well folks Southern Command had its first "official" game day on the "church" field yesterday and it turned out to be a really fun day with perfect weather. The day started off super cold in the early morning and had us worried that the frigid weather, 32 degrees to be exact, would scare off players. But by 9am players starting filtering onto the property and we had a great turn out. I started off the day getting to the field around 8:30 and unloading my trailer which was stacked as high as I could get it and as full as I could get it with pallets. I wanna thank Brendan for the help the night before risking his life out in the cold and in the ghetto picking up all the pallets. He also showed up early with me and we built new bunkers up on the hill and scattered a few off in the woods. The new bunkers really paid off in all the games providing the much needed cover up on the hilltop for defenders or flag seekers. I also wanted to thank Brian Koser for all the help throughout the day running the games and keeping things running smoothly.
The cold didn't last long and the sun was out all day. There's a line of real tall weeds all around the edge of the hill top and as the sun shone on the weeds seed pods they were making a popping or cracking like noise most of the day. It made for a weird effect while laying in the weeds waiting to be attacked.
We had a good turn out like I mentioned earlier. About 15 to 20 players were there all day which made for the ability to play numerous different game scenarios like CTF, Siege, predator, and a few other team based games. We played about 8 or 9 games throughout the day. We played from about 9:30 till 4:30 ish, which is a long day of playing for us.
We will be back at the field in two more weeks hopefully with more building materials and more players.
I Did just get the ok to go and pick up a bunch of old tin to use on the field so this weekend im gonna go get it. Next game day on the 19th ill be showing up on the field around 8:30 to start installing the new materials!!!!! So our bunkers should be pretty safe by then.
